Pulmonary-related home health considers clinical and functional needs together. The treating plan provides relevant medical directions, while nursing and therapy assess their ordered roles. A lung diagnosis does not identify the same exercise routine or level of assistance for every patient.

Activity-tolerance assessment

Daily activities help describe the functional concern. The team can consider the actual task, current ability and practical home arrangement. Nursing communicates relevant clinical findings and teaching needs, and therapists keep activity planning consistent with those directions. Oxygen or other prescribed treatment settings should not be changed independently in response to a difficult task.

Nursing teaching coordination

This service is not automatically a formal pulmonary rehabilitation program or continuous respiratory monitoring. Program availability and scope need separate confirmation. Urgent breathing changes require appropriate clinical or emergency assessment rather than a routine therapy response.

Eligibility and insurance review

Original Medicare Part A & B may cover eligible home health care when the applicable homebound, skilled-care, clinician-order and certification requirements are met and services follow an individual plan through a Medicare-certified agency. Coverage and any patient responsibility require verification. Blue Shield of California PPO and Anthem Blue Cross PPO benefits are also reviewed individually. Equipment, medications and separately billed services require their own benefit review.
