Physical Therapists Who Come to You in Encino
Encino splits at Ventura Boulevard. South of it, Encino Hills and Royal Oaks climb into the Santa Monica Mountains on winding roads, with houses on graded pads, long driveways, and entries reached from above or below the street. North of the boulevard ā Amestoy Estates, the Havenhurst and White Oak neighborhoods, the streets toward Balboa Park ā the Valley floor is flat, and the homes are large single-story ranches on wide lots with long interior distances. Those two halves fail patients in opposite ways, and our licensed physical therapists plan for whichever applies.
Our therapists serve Royal Oaks, Encino Hills, and Amestoy Estates, Encino Village and the Ventura Boulevard corridor, the Balboa Park and Lake Balboa adjacent areas, the Havenhurst and White Oak neighborhoods, and the Louise Avenue and Encino Reservoir vicinity.
Two Different Failure Modes
In the hills, the limiting factor is almost always the grade ā the driveway, the entry steps, and a street with no level stretch to practice on. In the flats, it is distance and endurance: a large single-story house where the primary bedroom, the kitchen, and the front door are far enough apart that a deconditioned patient rests between them.
We measure both. Grade and step count where they apply, and walking distance before rest where they do not. The exercise selection follows from which problem you actually have.
What the Evaluation Covers
Your therapist measures strength, joint range of motion, standing balance, and gait speed, then applies them to your property: driveway grade, entry steps, interior distances, level changes, the bathroom transfer, and the route to where a vehicle stops. Medications, blood pressure response to standing, and fall history are reviewed.
Conditions We Treat at Home
- Recovery after knee, hip, and shoulder replacement or repair
- Balance and gait training on hillside grades and long driveways
- Endurance rebuilding across large single-story homes
- Fall prevention for patients living independently
- Gait changes after stroke or with Parkinson’s disease
- Back, neck, and joint pain limiting an active routine
- Return to golf, tennis, and recreation after surgery or injury
Getting Back to Golf or Tennis
These come up constantly here, and they are legitimate rehabilitation goals rather than extras. Both are demanding in specific ways: golf requires trunk rotation under load and a stable single-leg stance; tennis requires lateral movement, deceleration, and the ability to change direction without the knee buckling.
We progress toward them in stages and test the components ā rotation range, single-leg balance time, lateral step control ā rather than declaring readiness. We will not tell you when you will be back on the court. We will tell you which specific capacity is still short and what is being done about it.
If Something Changes Between Visits
You are given a direct number and a short, specific list of what warrants using it ā new or sharply increased pain, a fall or near-fall, new swelling or calf tenderness, dizziness on standing, or a sudden change in what you can do. A clinician responds, and where it needs a physician we call them rather than waiting for your next appointment.
Coordination and Privacy
We coordinate with Encino Hospital Medical Center, Providence Tarzana Medical Center, Sherman Oaks Hospital, and Northridge Hospital Medical Center, and we work with concierge practices readily. Patient information is handled under HIPAA, therapists arrive in unmarked personal vehicles where requested, and clinicians do not discuss patients outside the care team. Your physician receives objective measurements and progress notes after visits.

Starting Treatment
Home physical therapy requires a physician order documenting medical necessity. Medicare may cover in-home physical therapy if you qualify, which generally requires a physician order, a skilled therapy need, and homebound status as Medicare defines it. Coverage is not guaranteed in advance. We accept Original Medicare Part A & B, Blue Shield of California PPO, and Anthem Blue Cross PPO.
Our intake team verifies your coverage discreetly and explains your options before services begin. Most patients start within one to two days of a completed referral.

FAQs
Do you have questions?
Have questions about in-home physical therapy in Encino? Find answers below or reach out to our team anytime ā we're here to help.
Royal Oaks, Encino Hills, and Amestoy Estates; Encino Village and the Ventura Boulevard corridor; the Balboa Park and Lake Balboa adjacent areas; the Havenhurst and White Oak neighborhoods; and the Louise Avenue and Encino Reservoir vicinity.
We accept Original Medicare Part A & B, Blue Shield of California PPO, and Anthem Blue Cross PPO. Share the exact plan name with intake before scheduling care at an Encino address. Benefits, clinical eligibility, and any authorization must be verified; having a PPO card does not by itself confirm that a particular visit is covered. We do not offer private-pay services.
Tell the therapist whom you want involved in discussions or exercise teaching and what you prefer to discuss privately. The care team should follow applicable privacy rules and clarify any legal decision-making arrangements. A relative or helper's presence in the home does not automatically authorize sharing every clinical detail.
Both are legitimate goals. Golf needs trunk rotation under load and stable single-leg stance; tennis needs lateral movement and deceleration without the knee buckling. We test those components rather than declaring readiness, and we will tell you which capacity is still short rather than predicting a date.
You get a direct number and a specific list of what warrants using it ā new or sharply increased pain, a fall or near-fall, new swelling or calf tenderness, dizziness on standing, or a sudden change in function. A clinician responds, and we call your physician when it needs one.
