What the Evaluation Covers

Your therapist measures strength, joint range of motion, standing balance, and gait speed, then measures the home: the entry steps, any stair to an upper unit, doorway widths against your device, furniture and bed heights, the bathroom transfer, the clear floor space available, and the route out to the street. Medications, blood pressure response to standing, and fall history are reviewed.

Most families we work with here speak Spanish at home. Evaluations, exercise instruction, caregiver training, and written home programs are provided in Spanish or English, and we confirm understanding by having the patient or family member perform the transfer back rather than by asking whether it was clear — which almost always produces a yes regardless. Where a household speaks a language our clinician does not, we arrange interpretation rather than proceeding and hoping.

Coordination With Your Physicians

We coordinate with PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital, California Hospital Medical Center, Kedren Community Health Center, Barlow Respiratory Hospital, CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, and Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. Your physician receives objective measurements and progress notes after visits.
