Your therapist measures strength, joint range of motion, standing balance, and gait speed, then applies them to your home: terraced entry steps, interior stairs, the driveway grade if you are in the hills, the bathroom transfer, and the street outside. Medications, blood pressure response to standing, and fall history are reviewed.

Where a change would meaningfully reduce risk we suggest the reversible version — a clamp-on secondary rail, lighting that shows the tread nosing, non-slip strips that peel off without residue — and we name the single change that would do the most rather than producing a list.
