What the Evaluation Covers

Your therapist measures strength, joint range of motion, standing balance, and gait speed, then measures the home: bed and chair heights against a rise without assistance, the bathroom, doorway widths against your device, the entry steps, the length and surface of the drive, and — practically — what the two of you are currently doing for each other. Medications, blood pressure response to standing, and fall history are reviewed.

We record distance and gait speed at each visit so progress is a figure rather than an impression, and we hold back the hillside parcels and loose ground until the measurements support them — a walker on small casters does not manage decomposed granite, and that is a common way a confident patient comes unstuck.

Coordination With Your Physicians

We coordinate with Pacifica Hospital of the Valley, San Fernando Health Center, Kaiser Permanente Panorama City Medical Center, Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, Mission Community Hospital, and Olive View-UCLA Medical Center. Your physician receives objective measurements and progress notes after visits, including anything we observe about the household’s capacity to provide care.
