That means the back step and its rise, the clearance beside a parked car in a small garage, the threshold at the service door, and the transfer into and out of a vehicle in a tight space. Where a rail or a light at the back step would materially reduce risk, we name it specifically and report it to your physician.

What the Evaluation Covers

Your therapist measures strength, joint range of motion, standing balance, and gait speed, then measures the property: the garage clearance and back step, the front porch steps, doorway widths against your device, furniture and bed heights, the bathroom, and the sidewalk route toward downtown. Medications, blood pressure response to standing, and fall history are reviewed.

We set the program against that route with a named turnaround and a planned rest, record distance and gait speed each visit, and tell you which stage you are on — which motivates the home exercises in a way that an instruction to walk more does not.

We coordinate with Centinela Hospital Medical Center, Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital, Kindred Hospital Los Angeles, Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance, Kindred Hospital South Bay, and Memorial Hospital of Gardena. Your physician receives objective measurements and progress notes after visits.
