The second is isolation. In a canyon property or at the far end of Broad Beach, a fall means a long wait, and that changes what a patient should be attempting alone.

We address both directly. Surface progression runs pavement, then deck and stairs, then firm wet sand, then dry sand — only when the measurements support it. And for patients who are frequently alone we teach floor-recovery technique early and set explicit limits on what waits for a visit day.

What the Evaluation Covers

Your therapist measures strength, joint range of motion, standing balance, and gait speed, then applies them to the property: deck and beach stairs, the garage-to-living-level change, the drive, interior stairs, the bathroom transfer, and the distance to where a vehicle stops. Medications, blood pressure response to standing, and fall history are reviewed.

Where PCH closures or fire-season road conditions affect access, we call ahead and reschedule rather than leaving you waiting.

Home physical therapy requires a physician order documenting medical necessity. Medicare may cover in-home physical therapy if you qualify, which generally requires a physician order, a skilled therapy need, and homebound status as Medicare defines it.
